Rajasthan Royals’ captain, Sanju Samson, has been fined a substantial amount of Rs 24 lakh due to his team’s slow over-rate in their recent IPL 2025 match against Gujarat Titans. This incident occurred during a challenging game on Wednesday where the Royals faced a significant defeat.

The game was tough for Rajasthan Royals (RR) as they were easily defeated by Gujarat Titans (GT) with a final score disparity of 58 runs. This match marked the second instance in the current season where RR was penalized for a slow over-rate, the first being after a match against Chennai Super Kings, where stand-in captain Riyan Parag was fined Rs 12 lakh.
According to an IPL media release, the rest of the playing squad, including the Impact Player, were either fined Rs 6 lakhs or 25% of their individual match fees, whichever was less.

In a post-match analysis, Samson expressed disappointment over the team’s performance, particularly highlighting the match’s critical points where they failed to capitalize.
