According to a report by Times Of India, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), the 2016 IPL champions, are contemplating moving their IPL 2025 matches away from their home ground at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. This drastic consideration follows allegations of harassment and extortion for free tickets by the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) officials.

Allegations of Unprofessional Behavior

In an official communication, SRH general manager, Srinath TB, expressed the team’s frustration over the ongoing issues with HCA, notably accusing the association of unprofessional threats and actions. “If HCA desires SRH to switch venues, they should submit a written notice to enable formal communication with BCCI, Telangana government, and our management,” Srinath stated in his letter.

Controversy Over Ticket Allocations

For years, the HCA was provided with 50 complimentary tickets as part of an agreement including 3,900 complimentary tickets overall. This season, a dispute arose when HCA claimed the capacity of their allocated box was reduced and demanded extra tickets. The SRH management proposed discussing a mutually beneficial solution but faced resistance, with the HCA allegedly locking a key box during the last game to press their demands.

Escalation and Calls for a Meeting

With tensions escalating, SRH is pushing for adherence to the original ticket agreement and has requested an urgent meeting with the HCA’s apex council to discuss and resolve the disputes, emphasizing the need to maintain a professional and cooperative environment conducive for all parties involved.
